If you’ve never had to board your cat at a cattery before, you’re bound to have a few questions.
It can be a little anxiety-inducing the first time you leave your cat at the kennels, especially if they’re rather young or you’re heading away for more than a couple of days. With that in mind, we’d like to give you a little more information about what we do here at Hollybank and how you can prepare your cat for its first time boarding with us.
Read on to find out the answers to all the top questions that cat owners have before sending their pets for a holiday at Hollybank!
Are All Cats Eligible For Boarding At Hollybank?
Yes! As long as your cat is up to date with all its vaccinations at least two weeks before boarding, your cat is eligible for a stay at Hollybank’s cattery.
We, like other catterys, are unable to board cats who do not have all the relevant vaccinations as this may put your cat and other animals at the cattery at risk of illness.
How Are The Pens At Hollybank?
Following recent renovations at Hollybank, our UPVC luxury cat accommodation is complete with an individual heating, four of which. are big enough to accommodate up to four cats, with a walk-in sleeping area of 1.5 x 1.2 meters and a play area of 2 x 1.5 meters. We strive to provide the very best in feline accommodation and are always planning to make future improvements!
What If My Cat Has Special Dietary Requirements?
If your cat has any special dietary requirements, be sure to let the team here at Hollybank know before checking them in. We’ll provide a form for you to fill out ahead of their stay that includes space for you to inform us of any dietary requirements or health issues.
We stock a wide range of top quality branded cat food to ensure that we have suitable feed for every cat that stays with us!
What Happens If My Cat Needs To See A Vet Whilst They’re Staying At Hollybank?
In the unlikely situation that your cat might require urgent veterinary care during their stay at Hollybank, we have 24hr access to a top local vet and will get them seen to as a matter of priority.
Our team of animal lovers here at Hollybank keep a close eye on all the cats we take care of and will know if anything appears immediately wrong with your feline friend.
Can My Cat Keep Toys And Comfort Items With Them?
Yes! In fact, we encourage pet owners to bring some of their cat’s comfort items with them for their stay at Hollybank.
Items we’d recommend bringing with your cat when you check them in include their favourite toys, a blanket or a bed – the familiar smells will help to put them at ease whilst they’re away from you.
When Can I Check In My Pet?
All departures, arrivals and viewings are appointment only here at Hollybank, as we keep our gates closed for the safety and security of our staff and the animals in our care.
Current opening hours at Hollybank are 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday and 10am – 3pm on Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
